About the Book

Journeys with a smartphone

What began as a travel blog during a six-month solo journey in 2018 gradually became something more permanent: a highly personal record of people, places and encounters along the way.

Although I travelled with a Canon and several lenses, I soon abandoned them for an iPhone 8. Its simplicity allowed me to get closer to people, photograph more instinctively and capture moments that might otherwise have disappeared.

Like looking in a rear-view mirror, the present disappearing into the past. All that’s really left are vestiges of people and place, fragments of poignant memory.
