My practice is rooted in painting, combining oils with spray paint, screen printing, collage, drawing and graphic imagery. Through layered and constructed surfaces, I explore memory, impermanence and the traces things leave behind.

The studio is rarely focused on a single painting.
Several works tend to develop alongside one another, moving between ideas, materials and different stages of completion. Some belong to established bodies of work, while others begin as experiments and find their direction through the process.

My studio is also where I live, a small medieval barn, just outside Brighton on the south coast of England.
Kingston Buci sits between the sea, the industrial port of Shoreham and the South Downs, giving me easy access to very different landscapes in which to walk, think and find inspiration.
The barn itself is quiet, with beautifully even natural light and plenty of space to work.
