Lifecycles
Introduction
Lifecycles explores time, transition and impermanence through sequences of images, fragments and recurring motifs. Individual moments sit alongside one another, suggesting what came before and what might follow.
Sequences, vestiges and artefacts
These recent commissions developed the idea through imagery deeply personal to each owner. Memories, objects, places and recurring motifs are brought together to create connected narratives, with colour also playing an important part in each work.
Rather than following a conventional chronology, the paintings accumulate fragments of a lived life, allowing different moments and memories to coexist within a single sequence.
