Finding Inspiration through Travel

Sohra/Cherrapunjee

One of the primary reasons for taking time out from the norm to travel to these less-visited places - besides the culture, food, wildlife, environment and people with opportunities for photography, writing, adventure and life experience (!) - is to draw, paint and find inspiration from the world around me for my return home so I have engaging subject matter and a narrative to draw from. From this sketching I can produce larger, more meaningful work.

I’ve sadly neglected this over the years and it’s taken some time to get going on this trip too. However, I made a start whilst I was in Sohra and, with what limited equipment I have, I’ll hopefully continue in the months ahead.
